Pink Day - Wear Pink - Save Lives!

Action Cancer is the only charity providing breast screening in Northern Ireland.  This October, we are asking you to please organise a Pink Day and raise funds for this life-saving screening service.  Every month Action Cancer offers 1000 appointments and detects 8 cancers.  Just choose a date in October and invite staff to wear an item of pink.  Then, gather a small donation from each participant to help raise vital funds for Action Cancer's life saving services.  Breast Cancer Awareness month this October is your chance to have a bit of fun and raise awareness for a great cause.

Gypsy Caravan: When the Road Bends...

In Association with the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and An Munia Tober (there are a limited number of tickets for this pre-screening).

Film Screening 6.30pm @ Queen's Film Theatre on 28th October

Pre screening reception 5.30pm hosted by the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and An Munia Tober

An exhilirating combination of documentary and concert film, this joyous celebration of the musical world of the Roma follows the 2001 U.S. "Gypsy Caravan" tour, which showcased five bands from four countries. Filmed by the ‘godfather’ of documentary, Albert Maysles, Gypsy Caravan captures both the electrifying on-stage performances from the musicians as well as the looking behind-the-scenes when the diverse groups, divided by language and culture, start to jam and bond.

Needless to say Gypsy Caravan has a wonderful soundtrack; more than this however it provides a rare glimpse into the world of the Roma.
