Interested In Becoming A Community Facilitator?
This Programme is for women who have participated in personal
development courses, experienced the value of being part of
a group and are keen to develop facilitation skills to enable
and empower other women. The programme is aimed at women who:
- Are active in their community and have an interest in
community issues
- Have a willingness to bring their skills back into the
community
- Have not had an opportunity to access this type of training
programme before
The
Programme includes:
- Working with groups
- Promoting individual rights and choices
- Communication/interpersonal skills
- How adults learn
- Planning and evaluating sessions
- Conflict management
- Supporting yourself
- Good relations
- Anti-discriminatory practice
- Conflict resolution
- Disclosure of information/confidentiality
This is an accredited Programme offering an NVQ Level III
in Direct Training & Support and more importantly, the
skills to:
- Facilitate courses and sessions
- Act as a role model for other women
- Enable other women to collectively have an impact on
local issues
The programme has been designed by WRDA and is delivered
through funding from the Big Lottery Fund working in partnership
with statutory and voluntary agencies, local groups and organisations.
The Community Facilitator Programme has won two prestigious
training awards – A ‘National Training Award’
for Innovation, and a ‘Training for Women Network’
Award for Innovative Company Practice. The programme is funded
by the Big Lottery.
