Community Facilitation
Using a proven model combining peer education and experiential
learning, the Community Facilitation service is an ideal way
to inform, consult and empower individuals in disadvantaged
communities through:
- Delivering social models of health, and peer education
programmes
- Facilitating effective policy consultations

- Promoting informed decision making
- Delivering information

Who are Community Facilitators?
With an NVQ Level III in Direct Training & Support Community
Facilitators are highly skilled, experienced and dynamic women,
currently active in their local communities throughout Northern
Ireland.
Where are Community Facilitators based?
From Belfast to Ballycastle, Strangford to Strabane, Community
Facilitators work with a diverse range of groups on a daily
basis, regardless of age, gender, religion, ethnic origin
and disability.
Why is Community Facilitation effective?
As skilled, local women, trusted in their own communities,
Community Facilitators will ensure wide engagement and participation,
and will work with your organisation to tailor the course
content and training materials to meet your group/organisation’s
particular needs.
What are their areas of expertise?
From community development to cross-community dialogue,
personal development to policy consultation, and delivery
of social models of health, Community Facilitators are already
highly proficient in a wide range of issues. They regularly
avail of further training provided by the WRDA to update their
knowledge and skills on topical issues. The WRDA will work
closely with you to select the most appropriate Community
Facilitators and assist you in the development of a training
programme that fits your needs.
