We were delighted to be presented with a ‘Training for Women’s Network’ (TWN) award for ‘Innovative Company Practice’ at a gala ceremony held in the Culloden Hotel on Friday 22 April. The former Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Mo Mowlam was the keynote speaker at the event.
The TWN ‘Celebration of Excellence Awards’ aim to highlight best practice in women’s training and development and celebrate the successes of local organisations, recognising the benefits that well trained and educated women bring to the local economy and society.
We received the award for our Community Facilitator Programme, which develops the leadership skills of women who are active in their local communities throughout Northern Ireland.
Keynote speaker Dr Mo Mowlam said:
“I am delighted to have been involved in this year’s Celebration of Excellence Awards. This event provides an excellent forum to highlight and celebrate best practice in women’s training and development in Northern Ireland. This year’s winners showcase what can be achieved through the creation of innovative training programmes that are offered to women, regardless of social status or background. I am very happy to honour ordinary women who have overcome extraordinary challenges through personal development and lifelong learning”.
