Annual General Meeting
On October 23rd, WRDA held their AGM at the Mourne Country Hotel in Newry. There was a good turn out for the event and the choice of venue enabled local women currently being trained as Community Facilitators in Newry to attend and support the event.
After the business part of the agenda including the reports from the WRDA Chair, Director and Finance Officer, WRDA invited the audience to join in a celebration of Women’s Link – now 10 years in existence. Staff of WRDA read out a variety of messages posted on Womens Link since its inception in 1997 until 2007. The original motto of “use it for the latest biz, craic, gossip or to change the world” could be heard in the variety of messages read out. Membership was encouraged in the hope that in 10 years time we would continue to celebrate the success of Women’s Link. A birthday cake for all to enjoy rounded off the morning.

On a sadder note, the Chair of WRDA, Sandra McGarry announced she would be stepping down as Chair and Committee member to move on to a new post. Louise O’Meara also stepped down from the Management committee. We wish them both well.
