WRDA welcomes new Women's Sector Lobbyist
WRDA are delighted to welcome Ellen Finlay to the staff team as the Women’s Sector Lobbyist. Ellen joins us from the Children’s Sector where she was Policy Officer at Children in Northern Ireland, having previously worked as Policy and Research Coordinator at the Women’s Support Network. Ellen is co-chair of the Child Poverty Alliance, chair of the Education Departmental Monitoring Group at NICVA and is a co-editor at Women’s Views on News.Ellen has a BSc (Hons) in Social Policy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Research Skills with Specialism. Outside work Ellen enjoys spending time with her family and devoting time to being a School Governor at Hazelwood Integrated Primary School. Ellen will be responsible for policy analysis, and developing, co-ordinating and implementing policy and lobbying strategies to ensure that women’s issues and views are effectively positioned and communicated to politicians and policy makers. This will be achieved through consultation and engagement with women’s sector organisations, liaising with politicians and policy makers and building knowledge by producing Assembly updates on key developments with particular reference to the needs of women.
